Cherbourg to Le Desert

From the Cherbourg port take the N2013 to the N13 in the direction of Valognes and St Lo. Stay on the N13 which passes by Valognes and heads towards Carentan. At Carentan the road changes to the N174 to St.Lo. and then Vire. Just outside Vire there is a large round about, Take the last exist which is near the Campanile hotel. You are now on the D577. 2km along this road, on the right, is a sign for Le Desert. If you miss it, don't worry because there is another one a little further on. Follow the narrow road until you get to a large village pond, follow the road round and you will see the view as depicted on the left of this page.
